Reading Day 2012

One of the big yearly events at Grace’s school is Reading Day. It is a school wide event where every student and teacher dresses up as their favorite character from a book.  Last year, Grace went as Angelina Ballerina.  This past summer, Grace and her dad read through the Wizard of Oz and Grace wanted to dress up as Dorothy.  Thankfully, we had purchased a Dorothy costume from the states before we left!  Complete with blue curling ribbon and pigtails, reddish shoes and a basket with a stuffed toy dog Grace was ready for the big day.  There were lots of great costumes ranging from princesses, Sponge Bob and my personal favorite- President Obama.  Each class awarded three prizes for various types of costumes and this year Grace won the prize for “Most Original” costume for her class.  She was very proud to go up front to receive her certificate.  Here are some pictures of the 2012 Reading Day.
