The winner of the egg & spoon race!

On Saturday April 28th we had the fun opportunity to participate in “Super Saturday” with the college students and other staff here at ABC. Super Saturday (with events happening on Friday too) was organized by the college Athletic department who hosted a day and half of field events. There were over 25 difference events ranging from from the long jump, egg on the spoon contest, 3 mile run, weight lifting, team relays, bike race and team sports such as soccer and basketball games. There were also some traditional Malawian style events such as a competition for women to carry water buckets on their heads and the tire race. The competition was divided by class (seniors, juniors, sophomores, freshman) with an addition team for the ABC staff. The seniors by far swept away the contest BUT Bruce did win the egg on the spoon contest! The day and a half event ended with a Braii (the equivalent of an outdoor BBQ) for the students, alumni and staff. It was a great time of friendly competition and hanging out with the students.
