Yesterday (the 20th) Grace turned 5 years old! She had a fun filled day with lots of birthday activities. She and her two friends (Katherine and Eloise) went to the art studio in town to paint their own pictures. Afterwards, Grace came home to to a "surprise" birthday party with her neighbor friends Steven and Esther who joined the celebration. We all enjoyed eating an amazing "Belle" cake (made by our next-door neighbor/friend Nell) and homemade ice-cream. After an afternoon rest we went for a swim and then out for a special family dinner courtesy of a special gift from grandparents. Grace completed her birthday by opening birthday presents (thanks to the long-term planning and packing by Gram, Aunt Megs, Nana & Papa, Aunt Nancy & Uncle Charlie, and Mema & Pepa who gave us 3 years worth of birthday/Christmas presents for girls). We capped off Grace's special day by watching her brand new VeggieTales movie.
Grace - we love you. You are an amazing girl who always sees such joy in life. You are your sister's favorite playmate and you are a wonderful sister. We love your tender heart, your sense of humor and your love for all things "girlie". Your prayers each night at dinner are so beautiful to listen to. May God's hand be strong on your life in this new year!
